The virtual exhibition "Under the shade of a cherry orchard" based on the resources of the Presidential Library in Omsk

On the eve of the 160th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov the Omsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library at the Pushkin Omsk State Regional Scientific Library provides a virtual exhibition of materials from the Presidential Library’s collections.

A digital exposition illustrating the personality of Anton Pavlovich, Chekhov as the playwright, the staging of the play "The Cherry Orchard", combined the publications from the collections of the Presidential Library and the Pushkin Electronic Library.

The exhibition introduces collections of memoirs and biographical sketches from the collection of the Presidential Library “Anton Chekhov (1860–1904)” and a video lecture “Knowledge of Russia” dedicated to the fate of the playwright. In addition, the exposition includes photo galleries showing photographs from the books of the Pushkin Electronic Library. Each material is provided with links available for viewing.

The Presidential Library’s collection “Anton Chekhov (1860-1904)” includes digital copies of books, periodicals and archival documents spotlighting various facets of the personality of the writer, dedicated to his life and career; presents postcards and photographs with images of the writer, texts of his individual works of art, articles and letters.
