12 April 2021

Employees of the Omsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library at the Pushkin Omsk State Regional Scientific Library in collaboration with colleagues from the Omsk virtual methodological association "School Librarians" have developed an online library quest "The Book Gathers Friends: A Great Space Travel".

Together with the heroes of Kir Bulychev's books, representatives of the XXII century Alisa and Gromozeka, children from 6-8 grades of Omsk and Omsk Region will save the history of space exploration, restoring the documents that survived after the incident in the future bit by bit.

The route of the quest runs from Tsiolkovsky's ideas to the first man in space. Participants will have to look for clues for answers to the tasks of the game in the collections of school and national electronic libraries. In particular, the reference list of sources includes links to videos of the Presidential Library.

April 12, 1961 a man first entered the near-earth space. The collection Outer Space covers this great event. It includes fragments of newsreels, periodicals, books, postcards, commemorative medals and badges spotlighting various milestones in the development of astronautics.

Omsk Region is represented by a separate electronic collection on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes studies, essays, reviews and reports, archival documents, visual aids, audio and video materials reflecting certain aspects of the socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of Omsk Region during the 18th - second half of the 20th centuries.
