The Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library presented the book "The Victory Banner comes from the Urals"

June 9, 2021 the Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Yugov Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted the presentation of the book "The Victory Banner comes from the Urals". The meeting took place on the eve of a landmark date for the whole country - June 22. This year marks 80 years since the day when all the humanity learned about the beginning of the bloodiest and most tragic events in history.

The hall of the Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library was chosen as a place for the presentation of this publication for a reason. The importance of preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War was repeatedly emphasized at the event. Archival documents, photographs, newsreels, memoirs of eyewitnesses of the war presented in the Presidential Library are a vivid example of concrete work in this direction. The head of the regional center Rimma Nasyrova told the participants of the event about the unique resources of the Presidential Library. The Presidential Library’s portal contains a large-scale collection Memory of the Great Victory, which includes official documents, photographs and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, propaganda posters and leaflets and much more.

The guests of the event were able to learn about some documents published on the portal. Historical photographs of wartime, including those related to Kurgan, were of particular interest.
