Webinar "Opening of the centers of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library" held in Novosibirsk

August 18, 2021 specialists from the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library and the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library held a webinar "Opening of the centers of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library" for employees of municipal libraries in Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk Region. The event was also attended by employees of the Center for Professional Development, scientific-methodological and information-bibliographic departments of the Novosibirsk Library.

Opening the meeting, Vladimir Deev, Deputy Director of the Novosibirsk State Library for Scientific and Library Work, noted the value of the unique content of the Presidential Library as a reliable resource presented in a convenient modern form.

Head of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library Galina Gubchenko spoke about the activities of the Presidential Library and the network of centers of remote access to the resources of the national electronic repository. They also touched upon such topics as the specifics of the formation of the Presidential Library’s collections and best practices for promoting resources, organizing access to the resources of the Presidential Library through the portal and remote access centers, as well as methodological support of the Presidential Library's remote access centers, carried out by the Novosibirsk Regional Center.

Special attention was paid to the development of a network of remote reading rooms of the Presidential Library in Novosibirsk Region opened since 2011 and designed to ensure the availability of materials from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library for residents of Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk Region.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Novosibirsk Region: Pages of History. It includes books, periodicals, archival documents and visual materials that spotlight various aspects of the history of Novosibirsk Region during the 18th - first half of the 20th century (geographical, administrative-territorial, economic, etc.), as well as the current Charter of the region.
