Penza school students introduced to Nikolay Nekrasov’s oeuvre

On December 15, 2021, specialists of the Mikhail Lermontov Penza Regional Library held an event for eighth-graders of School No. 68. It was devoted to the anniversary of the great poet Nikolay Nekrasov.

Thanks to the presentation Singer of the People's Suffering, the students learned about the literary career of the famous writer. Also, they were introduced to the Presidential Library's portal and explored the collection Nikolay Nekrasov (1821-1878). The Presidential Library timed it to the 200th anniversary of the poet. It features the classic's works, documents about his life and work, monographs about his oeuvre, almanacks and magazines published by Nekrasov, and other documents.

Students mastered a simple and advanced search on the Presidential Library's portal. They answered the questions of the web quiz Singer of Love, Freedom, Peace..., which is available on the website of the Mikhail Lermontov Penza Regional Library.

At the end of the event, students could use the Remote Electronic Reading Room of the Regional Centre for Access to the Presidential Library's Resources and study the collection Nikolay Nekrasov (1821-1878).

The institution's portal also provides the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical information covering various aspects of the regional history of the late XVIII - first third of the XX centuries, including demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and others.
