
The results of the drawing competition "Wooden Tale of Tomsk" summed up
The Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted a regional drawing competition "The Wooden Tale of Tomsk", which was held from October 20 to December 17, 2021. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate the interest of young students in architectural local history and to fill the electronic resource "Wooden Fairy Tale of Russia" with illustrative materials.
The competition received 117 drawings from 109 young artists representing the cities of Asino and Tomsk, as well as the villages of Bakchar, Kolpashevo and Podgornoye of the Chainsky district of Tomsk Region.
Particularly impressive was the participation of pupils of the children's art school No. 2 in Tomsk: more than 80% of the works belong to them. The development of the theme of Tomsk wooden architecture within the framework of this part of the competitive album pleases with its depth and subtlety, a variety of plots and motives, skill in using the selected visual technique. That is why it was decided to hold a solemn event on the basis of children's art school No. 2 in Tomsk.
The curator of the project "Wooden Tale of Russia", scientific secretary of the library Irina Nikienko summed up the results of the competition, telling about the composition of the participants, the peculiarities of the works, traditional and also new nominations and the monuments of architecture depicted in the competition drawings. Particular attention was paid to the artistic originality of the author's samples of Tomsk wooden architecture, in particular, created according to the projects of this year's hero of the day Vikentiy Orzheshko (1876-1914).
For the third year in a row, the winners in the Audience Choice Prize nomination and competition have been awarded to the studio studio “Creator's Workshop”. Natalya Ponomareva, store director, thanked the organizers and participants of the competition for attracting attention and popularizing the masterpieces of wooden architecture in Tomsk and the region.
The works of the participants of the competition are available in the album of the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Scientific Library on the social network "Vkontakte".
A separate collection of the Presidential Library Tomsk Region: Pages of History is dedicated to Tomsk Region. It includes essays, statistical and cartographic materials, archival documents of the late XIX - early XX centuries, covering the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Tomsk region.
