A series of traveling educational workshops launched in Sverdlovsk Region

On February 9 the first in 2022 traveling workshop "A Point on the Map", organized by specialists from the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, was held at the Public Library of the Novouralsk City District.

The idea of “A Point on the Map” traveling workshops emerged in 2021: two of them were held in the cities of Aramil and Berezovsky. The interdepartmental seminar allows facilitating the integration of the forces of culture and education of the municipality in working with a unique digital array of documents aimed at creating a new educational environment. The workshop lasts four hours and includes both a theoretical block that reveals the activities of the Presidential Library and a practical lesson on working with the electronic collections. The specialists of the Regional Center present their own practices and the listeners come up with similar products and projects for their institutions. The workshop was attended by 23 specialists - librarians and teachers from various institutions of the city district.

The electronic reading room of the Presidential Library opened at the Public Library in Novouralsk in September 2018 actively promotes the resources of the institution. In most schools of the nuclear city, centers of remote access to the full collection of the Presidential Library are also organized. In addition, the Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries spotlighting the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects the history of the region.
