18 August 2022

The "Methodological Lounge of the RFL" brought together teachers from 60 countries of the world on the online platform of the Russian House in Rome. The webinar was attended by 150 teachers of Russian as a foreign language (RFL).

The event participants learned about the Live Speech program based on which they have been successfully teaching the Russian language in the Russian House in Rome for more than 5 years. The author, Irina Andreeva, spoke about the educational and methodological complex. Tatyana Semyonova, a teacher of Russian as a foreign language at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Rome, presented her own developments in conducting conversation clubs. Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Professional Communication of Romano-Germanic Philology at Voronezh State University Zhanna Petrosyan introduced the webinar participants to the mechanism for launching educational online projects in the Telegram channel.

“For our department, which is a key one in promoting the Russian language abroad, such events are one of the most effective tools”, - said the deputy head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, in his welcoming speech to the event participants, compatriots living abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation Pavel Shevtsov.

The head of the Russian House in Rome, Daria Pushkova, thanked the audience and speakers of the webinar: “Your concern and work are infinitely important: it is you who bring people and reveal the beauty and richness of the Russian language. Interest in learning Russian is not waning – here in Italy, at our Center, the number of students attending courses in Russian as a foreign language is only growing from year to year”.

Taking into account the positive response of the event participants, Ekaterina Levina, curator of Russian as a foreign language courses at the Russian House in Rome, promised to hold another methodical drawing room in the near future.

Today the center of remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library, opened in 2012 at the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Rome, allows guests of the Russian House to learn about the whole variety of collections of the library's electronic holdings.
