The Presidential Library and the Library of Foreign Literature signed a cooperation agreement

On July 28, 2023, within the framework of the II Summit and the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, a solemn ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and the Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature was held. 

The event was held at the Presidential Library. Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov and Director General of the Library for Foreign Literature Pavel Kuzmin put their signatures on the document.

The cooperation of libraries will be aimed at meeting the information needs of citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens by providing access to digital copies of works and documents in the field of domestic and world culture, science and education, preserving and popularizing the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Russia, as well as the Russian language as state language of the Russian Federation.

According to Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, the signed agreement will give a new impetus to cooperation between organizations: “We plan to add the collections of both libraries with digitized documents on the history of Russian statehood. An important area of cooperation will be the implementation of joint educational programs”.

In turn, Pavel Kuzmin, Director General of the Library for Foreign Literature, noted that “one of the significant areas of interaction within the framework of the signed agreement will be joint work aimed at presenting documentary evidence that reveals historical truth, the fight against false information, against fakes, on which the latest time for anti-Russian propaganda".

The Presidential Library and the Library of Foreign Literature have been fruitfully cooperating for many years. Library specialists actively participate in joint international projects and professional events of the highest level. So, in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Presidential Library handed over electronic copies of letters and diaries of residents of besieged Leningrad for publication on the Libraries - Witnesses of the Victory portal as part of an international project organized by the Library for Foreign Literature in conjunction with the national libraries of the CIS countries and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
