On September 1, 2023, a remote access center to the resources of the Presidential Library was opened at the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.

Visitors to the new remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library at the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan will be able to get quick access to the Presidential Library’s collections, which today include more than a million depository items. These are digital copies of rare books, archival documents, research papers, audio and video recordings and other materials that spotlight the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Russia - Kazakhstan: the History of Relations. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays, archival documents, photographs and newsreels that spotlight the geography, ethnography, economy, cultural development of Kazakhstan from the beginning of the 15th century to the present day.

The opening of the access center to the resources of the Presidential Library became possible thanks to the Memorandum of Cooperation and Mutual Understanding between the Presidential Library and the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan. The document was signed in November 2022 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, by Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov and Director of the National Academic Library Gaziza Nurgalieva. The memorandum provides for the provision of information support in the implementation of joint economic, scientific and cultural projects of the two countries, the exchange of documents to enter the collections of libraries, the holding of conferences and other events to introduce advanced achievements and new technologies, the exchange of professional experience and scientific achievements.

The Presidential Library and Republic of Kazakhstan have long-standing and good relations. For more than 10 years, the library's remote access center has been successfully opened at the Russian House in Astana. The delegation from Republic of Kazakhstan, which included employees of the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan, visited the building at Senatskaya, 3, and learned about the activities of the institution. Specialists of the Presidential Library, in turn, joined the International Conference "The Role of the Library in the Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Modern World", which was held at the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan.
