The Presidential Library attends RUSSIA EXPO

The Presidential Library is presented at the RUSSIA EXPO which was open on November 4, 2023 in Moscow at 67 VDNH facilities and will run until April 12, 2024.

The library's participation program covers the entire period of the exhibition and several sites. On November 8 at 13:00 in pavilion № 57 “Russia - my History”, as part of the marathon “Cultural Code: In Search of Identity”, the Presidential Library’s specialists will tell about the successful experience of including Internet links (QR-codes) to the library’s information resources in a new unified history textbook for grades 10–11. Links to resources are directed to thematic collections, the total volume of which is more than 15 thousand documents and materials on the history of Russia, the theory and practice of Russian statehood and the Russian language.

One can register for the event and add it to a calendar using this link. In the same pavilion, on December 20 at 17:00, library specialists will tell about the history of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The country's basic law celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

2024 is marked by such significant dates as the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, and the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. Lectures on these topics are planned for Muscovites and guests of the city, based on digitized rare publications, exclusive photographs, archives, diaries, letters, and materials from private collections.

During the exhibition and forum, the St. Petersburg stand in sector B of pavilion № 75, will provide a demonstration of videos about the resources of the Presidential Library and the possibility of accessing them through structured digital collections dedicated to important historical events. During the thematic season “Hospitable Petersburg”, which will be held from December 18, 2023 to January 7, 2024, certificates for a free tour to the main building of the Presidential Library in the Northern capital will be raffled off at the city’s stand together with the Committee for Tourism Development. In addition, business meetings, signing agreements on cooperation in the field of historical education, and negotiations with future partners are expected within the framework of the Forum.

RUSSIA EXPO was symbolically opened on National Unity Day. It is carried out in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated March 29, 2023 № 215 and unites all 89 regions of Russia, as well as ministries, corporations and public organizations. The exhibition is designed to demonstrate the country's modern achievements in a variety of industries on one site, to show real and modern Russia.
