From December 18 to 22, 2023 the Presidential Library hosts training for employees of educational organizations of the Tobolsk municipal district of Tyumen Region in an additional professional development program “Improving the efficiency of the educational process based on the methodology of using digital resources of the Presidential Library”. Training takes place remotely.
Students of the program learn about the structure of the collection and the search system of the Presidential Library's portal; master the specifics of working in an electronic reading room and new opportunities for accessing institutional resources through the portal of remote access centers; learn how to use library resources in the educational process, as well as when organizing educational projects and events.
The interaction of the Presidential Library with Tyumen Region has been actively developing for many years. Since 2011, a branch of the Presidential Library has been opened at the Mendeleev Tyumen Regional Scientific Library.
To date, more than 150 remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library have been created in Tyumen region, thus, all areas of the region are covered by a single network, which opens up the possibility of connecting to a unique electronic repository. In Tobolsk Region there are 16 remote electronic reading rooms for the resources of the Presidential Library. They are open in various schools in the region, as well as at the Tobolsk Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve and MAUK “Centralized Library System” of the city of Tobolsk.
For the Presidential Library, interaction with regions is one of the key areas of activity. The digital collection of the Presidential Library contains more than a million depository items. Among them are electronic copies of printed and archival materials, audio and video recordings, abstracts of dissertations and other documents reflecting the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, as well as the Russian language as the state language of Russia. Regional studies electronic collections, which present materials about the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, occupy a special place in the Presidential Library’s collections.
The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Tyumen Region: Pages of History. It includes research, statistical materials, archival documents, visual and audio materials that spotlight the socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of Tyumen Region of the 16th–20th centuries. In electronic reading rooms one can also “look through” the files of local newspapers “Sickle and Hammer” for 1946–1948, “For Communism” for 1962–1963, “Leninskaya Pravda” for 1980–1986, etc.
