The Presidential Library's resources dedicated to the Russian Academy of Sciences presented at a multimedia lesson in Penza

Specialists from the Lermontov Penza Regional Library based on the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library held a multimedia lesson dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event participants were 8th grade pupils from V. Kh. Khokhryakov school № 57.

During the interactive game, the children learned a lot of new things from the history of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which was established in 1724 by decree of Peter I. Schoolchildren learned about the work of Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov A Brief Guide to Eloquence (1748) and studied some issues of rhetoric. Thus, the publication notes that to acquire the art of eloquence, the following five consequences are required: first, natural talents; second - science; third - imitation of authors; fourth – essay exercise; fifth – knowledge of other sciences.

Specialists from the regional center told the pupils about the Presidential Library's portal and its “TV channel” section. Young scholars examined the collection of the Presidential Library Academy of Sciences and the Formation of Russian Science, which includes official documents, archival materials, research, literature indexes, anniversary editions, visual materials, as well as works of members of the Academy of Sciences and its periodicals. In the On This Day section, pupils learned about background information about the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
