The International Partner Week of the Higher School of Economics Research University started work in the Presidential Library

On May 23, 2024, the Presidential Library hosted the grand opening of the International Partner Week, which will take place from May 23 to May 25. The event is organized by the Research University of the Higher School of Economics.

Delegations from 30 leading universities from 15 countries around the world will attend the International Partner Week. This platform will provide an opportunity to discuss the latest trends in higher education development. The participants will exchange innovative ideas, share best practices, and develop mutually beneficial partnerships between countries in the field of academic education.

Opening the event, Anna Tayshetskaya, Director of the Research University of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, delivered an introductory speech to the guests. She emphasized the importance of developing international relations and added that the quality of education at the university was confirmed by the global Times Higher Education ranking.

Nikita Anisimov, Rector of the Research University, thanked international partners for their participation in the conference. He expressed his hope that the meeting would become a tradition and bring together more participants from around the world. Nikita Yurievich emphasized the significance of communication between universities in shaping the future. He added that today's students would rule the world in 20-25 years, and by expanding international cooperation, they would provide their students with the best opportunities.

Yuri Nosov, General Director of the Presidential Library, welcomed the participants with a heartfelt speech. He emphasized that the guests of the forum had the opportunity to gain knowledge not only from the higher educational institutions in St. Petersburg, but also from the work of the only fully digital library in our country that holds the status of being a national institution.

In his speech, Yuri emphasized that the materials in the library's collection could be accessed by all participants in the educational process through a wide network of remote access points to library resources both in Russia and abroad.The guests of honor at the opening ceremony of the International Partner Week included Vice-Governor Alexey Korabelnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations Sergey Markov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education Irina Ganus, Hector Isidro Arenas Neira, Ambassador of Colombia to Russia, Ozgun Talu, General Consul of Turkey, and Abdurakhmon Mahmudov, Consul General of Uzbekistan, among others.

The discussion on the role of international university cooperation continued with a plenary session on the best international educational practices and their development. Representatives from the Indian Institute of Management in Indore (IIM), Dehradun University, Bosphorus University, and the Research University in Mexico shared their expert opinions on the challenges that globalization presents for modern universities. They discussed how to ensure the quality of education, promote successful intercultural communication, and adapt educational programs to international standards in order to meet the demands of a globalized world.

During the panel discussions, delegates from various countries discussed a range of topics, including the role of artificial intelligence in education and the influence of student organizations in the university environment. Experts emphasized the importance of jointly developing not only scientific but also cultural initiatives. During the event, the Research University of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) announced its intention to establish a new educational platform dedicated to intercultural understanding and academic collaboration.
