Knowledge Forum takes place at Presidential Library
On October 2nd and 3rd, the Presidential Library hosts an annual Knowledge Forum dedicated to the Year of the Family. The goal of this forum is to provide a platform for discussion on important issues related to family traditions, young people's education, and the support and promotion of traditional family values. Experts and forum participants will gather to share their experiences in the fields of education and awareness, and to discuss ways to promote traditional family values among the public.
This year's Knowledge Forum has been timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Presidential Library. The library regularly hosts events, such as exhibitions, lectures, and excursions that aim to strengthen traditional values.
The Knowledge Forum brings together leading experts in education and science, including teachers and methodologists, as well as representatives from libraries and archives. It also welcomes public organizations, schoolchildren, and students.
The event is available for everyone. The meeting will be broadcasted on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live Broadcasts section, as well as on the Rutube-channel of the Library, on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
The participants of the forum were greeted by the Director General of the Presidential Library, Yuri Nosov. He emphasized that "many of the events organized by the library are aimed at school audiences, and several projects are designed to assist teachers in implementing educational tasks."
The first day of the Forum started with a plenary session titled Family Institute - Keeper of Cultural Traditions, where representatives from the Presidential Library, Russian National Library, Russian School Library Association, Northwestern Institute of Management of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and Murmansk Arctic University were give speeches. There also was a video lecture on Famous Dynasties of Russia. The Presidential Library hosted a master class on Sources of Personal Origin in Research Work.
The second day of the forum started with a plenary session titled Experience of the Presidential Library in promoting family values. Speakers are representatives from the St. Petersburg Education Committee, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, the Northwestern Institute of Management of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Russian State Historical Archive, and the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
A round table discussion on Issues of interaction between family and schools in the process of moral and aesthetic education for young people brought together representatives from the Northwestern Institute of Management, the Academic Gymnasium, the Baltic Humanitarian Institute, and the Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna School.
The open dialogue Educational and innovative projects for the Year of the Family was attended by specialists from the St. Petersburg Education Committee and the Committee for General and Vocational Education of Leningrad Region, as well as students, schoolchildren and university teachers.
Representatives of the National Research University Higher School of Economics also spoke at the conference Role of the State in Family Support.
The Knowledge Forum concluded with a master class on Using Digital Resources to Create a Family Tree, hosted by the Presidential Library. Experts from the Presidential Library and the Centre for Genealogy at the Russian National Library shared their knowledge and experience.
