Penza Regional Center of Presidential Library prepared series of educational events for schoolchildren
During the autumn holidays, the specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library, held a series of educational events for schoolchildren. The participants were students from schools No. 68 and 76.
As part of the event "In a Healthy Body - A Healthy Mind!", the children learned about the ways people used to strengthen their immunity in the past. The students also sang folk little songs about healthy lifestyle from the collection of Russian Folk Songs (1937), which is available on the Presidential Library's portal.
During the Penza Mosaic Local History Game, students answered questions about the geography, flora, and fauna of the region. They also learned about street names, monuments, and architectural structures in the area. The game included information about cultural institutions and the number of people living in Penza. Students learned about paintings in the regional art gallery and when the capital received the title "City of Labor Valor."
As part of the event, students also had the opportunity to try their hand at acting and explore various theatrical professions. They recited poems by Agniya Barto, participated in shadow theater, and sang their favorite children's songs. Additionally, they were informed that materials on the history of Russian theater can be found on the Presidential Library's portal. One such resource is the publication Theater of Pre-Petrine Russia: A Public Lecture by A. Archangelsky from 1884.
The Presidential Library also presents the collection Penza Region: Pages of History, which includes archival documents, essays, research, and other materials that cover various aspects of Penza's history throughout different time periods.
