Presidential Library’s video lecture told about prehistoric era’s man art
On December 26, 2024, the Presidential Library hosted an event dedicated to prehistoric art as part of the Knowledge of Russia video lecture series.
Alexey Solodeynikov, a junior researcher at the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Shulgan-Tash Cave, spoke about human art from the prehistoric period and its significance in modern society.
The Shulgan-Tash Museum-Reserve is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan and was established specifically for the study and conservation of Paleolithic rock paintings from the Shulgan Tash cave. Its four-thousand-square-meter exposition features archaeological artifacts from various historical periods, providing information on the most significant achievements of Stone Age peoples.
In the modern cultural landscape, the art of prehistoric times does not actually exist, despite the fact that the "infancy of humanity" contains many images, artistic techniques, and questions, whose answers may be relevant to scholars of various fields, contemporary artists, and art enthusiasts.
The recording of the event is available on the Rutube channel of the Library, as well as on the social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki.
