Russia became guest of honor at World Book Fair in India
The World Book Fair has begun in India, a significant event in the publishing industry that brings together tens of thousands of visitors and experts from around the world every year. Russia has been granted the honorary guest status this year.
More than 50 publishers have brought over 1,500 books to India, including publications from three museums: the Moscow Transport Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
The Russian delegation is led by writer Alexey Varlamov, and visitors have the opportunity to meet with authors and critics and attend book launches.
The fair featured the textbook Writing in Russian! developed by the teachers from the Center for Russian Studies at JNU (New Delhi), Prof. Kiran Singh Verma and Dr. Sonu Saini.
Today, the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, which was opened in 2023 based on the Russian House in Mumbai, allows its visitors to explore the entire range of collections in its electronic library fund.
Visitors to the Russian House in Mumbai will find the Russian Language collection from the Presidential Library's electronic collection particularly interesting. This collection includes more than 1,100 rare archival documents, such as manuscripts, historical documents, scientific papers, dictionaries, and textbooks.
Furthermore, the Russia – India: the History of Relations collection in the Presidential Library presents a significant number of materials related to Russian-Indian ties.
