Regional cultural and educational project "Chronicle of War Years: 1941-1945" launched in Sakhalin Region

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library, have prepared a cultural and educational project Chronicle of the War Years: 1941-1945. It was developed based on materials from the Presidential Library.

The initiative is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and includes a series of themed intellectual games. The project is aimed at patriotic education of young people and promotion of historical truth. The implementation is carried out in two stages: municipal and regional.

Specialists from the electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library, operating on the basis of regional municipal libraries, joined the initiative.

Students from gymnasiums No. 3 and schools No. 26 and 5 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk participated in a project at the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library. A game was organized for the children, which included 15 questions about the world situation on the eve of World War II. The questions were based on materials from the Presidential Library's electronic collection Memory of the Great Victory.

In the second round, students had to search for information on the portal of the Presidential Library using World War II in archival documents (collection of digitized archival documents, film and photo materials) collection. They could use QR codes to open the necessary documents and answer the questions correctly.

The collection Sakhalin Region: Pages of History is available on the Presidential Library's portal. It contains geographical descriptions, travel essays, archival documents, and photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries that highlight various aspects of the region's history.
