Exhibition dedicated to 80th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War opened in Cyprus
The photo exhibition Women at War. 1941 - 1945 by the Russian Military Historical Society is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War at Russian House at Nicosia.
The exhibition, which has already attracted the interest of our compatriots and Cypriot friends, including members of the Cyprus-Russia Friendship Society and local branch of the International Russophile Movement, tells the story of the heroism and dedication of Soviet women during the war. These women, day after day, brought the Great Victory closer by working in army hospitals, on the front lines, in aerial battles, and in factories.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Cyprus, Murat Zyazikov, welcomed the audience at the opening of the exhibition.
The collection Memory of the Great Victory is available on the Presidential Library's portal. It includes official documents, photos and news reels, wartime newspapers, books, propaganda publications, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies of participants in military battles and home front workers, their personal documents, and much more.
To date, more than 1,400 electronic reading rooms have been opened in Russia and abroad, where visitors can explore the diverse collection of the Presidential Library, which contains hundreds of thousands of digitized rare archival documents that reflect the history of our country and its cultural heritage. Visitors can also participate in various projects through the electronic reading rooms, which are hosted by national libraries and representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo.
