Another informative event within framework of Ekaterinburg project "Meetings in Russian" dedicated to Day of Russia

Specialists of the Presidential Library Regional Centre based on the V. G. Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library held an educational session for students of the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens of the Ural State University of Economics. It was dedicated to the Day of Russia. The event was held as part of the Russian Meetings project.

Guests from Asian and African countries learnt about the traditions of celebrating Russia Day and how Pushkin Days are celebrated in our country. Special attention was paid to the Day of Remembrance and Mourning. The talk was accompanied by a display of thematic materials from the collections of the Presidential Library.

The students were particularly interested in the history of state symbols of Russia, Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Oblast. The audience was also shown excerpts of the documentary-publicist film trilogy State Symbols of Russia from the collection of the Presidential Library.

On the Presidential Library portal one can get acquainted with the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th century, covering various aspects of the region's development.
