Murmansk readers introduced to resources of Presidential Library dedicated to natural and cultural

The Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library, where the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library operates, hosted an educational event "Amazing Russia".

The event included screenings of documentary films from the Presidential Library's collection, which presented to the audience the multifaceted nature of Russia and inspired them to travel around the country. Among them were the films of the cycle "Russia from the Train Window". Thus, the film Krasnoyarsk Road. In the footsteps of Russian pioneers introduces South Siberia - the land of the most ancient civilisations, the land of great burial mounds and burial grounds. The painting Northern and Polar Urals shows the beauty of Russian railways and picturesque landscapes of the Polar Urals.

The participants of the event could also familiarise themselves with the exhibition of publications "About Russia with Love", take part in interactive quizzes "The Country is Wide", "Discovering the Country", "On the Pages of History: A Literary Journey of Russia". Intellectual competitions allowed them to test their knowledge of the country's rich natural and cultural heritage. The competitors had to remember the ancient names of modern cities, peculiarities of the national cuisine of the peoples of Russia, Russian folk songs, winged expressions, literary places and others.

An interactive talk "Together we are Russia" introduced the traditions of celebrating Russia Day and the history of the country's state symbols.

During the event there were musical meetings "My soul is located in Russia" and "Mother Russia", where songs about the Motherland were played, reflecting the depth and beauty of the Russian soul - from lyrical ballads to cheerful folk songs.

On the Presidential Library portal one can get acquainted with the collection Murmansk region: pages of history. It includes studies, statistical materials, archival documents, image and video materials reflecting various aspects of the region's development in different historical periods.
