Young talents represent Russia at festival in Dushanbe

The Children and Youth Centre of the capital of Tajikistan has launched the international festival of artistic creativity of children and teenagers from CIS countries "Visiting Dushanbe". More than 120 children are among the participants.

Among the contestants are Roman Egorov, a pupil of School No. 6 of the Russian Ministry of Defence, and Arman Hnkoyan, a student of the classical guitar studio of the Russian House in Dushanbe. The young musicians successfully performed on the first competition day. Now they are hard at work preparing for the finals.

The Electronic Reading Room of the Presidential Library, opened in 2011 on the basis of the Russian House in Dushanbe, today allows its guests to get acquainted with the whole variety of collections of the library's electronic fund.

Visitors to the Russian House in Dushanbe will be interested in the Russian Language collection from the Presidential Library's electronic collection. It includes more than 1,100 items of rare archival documents, including manuscripts, monuments of Russian writing, archival files, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, teaching aids and much more.

Guests of the Russian House in Dushanbe can also familiarise themselves with the Presidential Library's collection Tajikistan: Geography, Ethnography, History. It includes geographical sketches and ethnographic studies of the period when Tajikistan became part of the Russian Empire, as well as photographs and fragments of newsreels devoted to the Pamir expeditions of the 20-30s of the last century.
