Schoolchildren in Uzbekistan mastered new practices at creative workshop held by Russian House in Tashkent

15 August 2025

On 13 August 2025, the Russian House in Tashkent hosted a packed Creative Lab workshop. This is a joint project with the Department of Russian Literature at the National University of Uzbekistan.

Dozens of schoolchildren from Uzbekistan took part in the event. The main goal of the event is to develop creative skills and practical skills in the field of creating artistic texts and film scenes.

During the event, the schoolchildren were divided into three teams: directors and screenwriters (developing ideas, plots and dialogues, staging scenes); actors (working with emotions, diction, body language and stage movement); cameramen (basics of video shooting, working with shots, composition and framing).

After a short training session, the students got down to work: from writing the script and rehearsals to filming and editing. The result was a joint motivational video about the advantages of studying at the Russian House preparatory courses, which the participants presented to the audience in the final.

Creative Lab became a real laboratory of ideas, where schoolchildren unlocked their potential, mastered teamwork skills, and contributed to a real project.

Participants in the programme will be interested in the materials in the Presidential Library's electronic collection Russian Language. It includes rare documents: manuscripts, monuments of Russian literature, archival files, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, teaching aids and much more. The collection is available on the institution's portal and in the electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library in Russia and abroad.
