Penza students introduced to resources of Presidential Library

Specialists from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, operating on the basis of the M. Yu. Lermontov Penza Regional Library, held a training session on working with electronic library resources for students of the V. G. Belinsky Pedagogical Institute of Penza State University. Future teachers were introduced to the basic and thematic collections of the Presidential Library, the capabilities of its electronic resources, and how they can be used in educational and extracurricular activities.

Special emphasis was placed on the collection Russian Language, which contains rare archival documents: manuscripts, monuments of Russian literature, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, and much more.

Participants showed great interest in Ivan Ustinov's textbook Techniques for Developing Oral and Written Speech (1928), which can be found on the Presidential Library website. The publication includes sections devoted to the development of oral and written speech, including reading and speaking techniques, skills for working with books and newspapers, and teaches how to create creative works and complex compositions.

During the event, students learned about the personal collections of the National Electronic Library. In addition, students were told about local history literature from the Penza Electronic Library, which is constantly being updated with sources about the Penza region. These include both pre-revolutionary and modern publications.

Specialists from the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library also provided young people with methodological recommendations on the use of educational and popular science films and video lectures in teaching and educational work.

The Presidential Library portal features a collection entitled Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, research, statistics, and other materials covering various aspects of the region's development throughout different historical periods.
