
Presidential Library signs Cooperation Agreement with Ryazan Oblast
On November 22 2010 in Ryazan the Director General of the Presidential Library A.P. Vershinin and Ryazan Oblast Governor O.I. Kovalyov signed a Cooperation Agreement on foundation of the regional center of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library. The agreement became another step on the way of foundation of the Presidential Library’s regional branch network.
Delegation of the Presidential Library arrived to Ryazan in order to participate in the ceremony of signing of the agreement. During the visit guests went to see the S.A. Yesenin State Museum-Reserve in the village Konstantinovskoye and the Ryazan Kremlin (Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve). Earlier specialists of Ryazan libraries underwent training at the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg.
Within the framework of the official ceremony of signing of the agreement members of the Public Chamber under the Ryazan oblast Governor, librarians, representatives of scientific and creative communities were shown a presentation of technical facilities, areas of work and principles of development of the Presidential library. Ye. G. Tsaryova, the Head of the Working group on the Presidential Library branch establishment, representative of the Committee for Culture and Tourism of Ryazan Oblast, delivered a report.
When the document was signed A.P. Vershinin underscored that the agreement would specify framework conditions of cooperation between the region and the Presidential Library focused on foundation of the branch. Concrete work will be implemented with consideration of regional features. Of paramount importance are information resources on the subject matter of Russian statehood and high technological standards.
In accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation of 18 June 2007 branches of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library will be opened in every region of the Russian Federation.
