
From district to republic: information network of the Presidential Library expands
The Presidential Library opened a remote electronic reading in the main library of the Republic of Khakassia – N. G. Domozhakov National Library in Abakan.
With the opening of a remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, residents of the Republic got access to a wealth of scientific, cultural and historical heritage of Russia in electronic form.
During the six years’ work, the Presidential Library has signed 37 cooperation agreements with regional administrations of the Russian Federation, 110 agreements with regional organizations. It opened and is rapidly developing a branch in the Tyumen region, created more than 150 regional centers and remote electronic reading rooms in 70 regions of Russia.
Another remote electronic reading room opened in the Information and Methodical Center of Primorsky district of St. Petersburg. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Administration of Primorsky district and the N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy, Deputy Director General of the Presidential Library Sergey Makeev. The Electronic Reading Room is equipped with modern facilities providing access to electronic resources of the Presidential Library, which include today more than 380, 000 units.
Agreement on cooperation between the Presidential Library and the Information and Methodical Center of Primorsky district of St. Petersburg was signed in late December 2013.
