The Presidential Library will celebrate the XXV anniversary of Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia
On June 3, 2017, General Director of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin discussed with the heads of regions a joint with the Presidential Library celebration of the XXV anniversary of a foundation of the Republics of Ingushetia and the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia in 2017.
The head of Ingushetia, Unus-Bek Yevkurov, who has for the first time visited the first national digital library of the country, got familiar with the library stock, mentioning that he is ready to participate in adding this with the works of historians, scientists and area studies specialists. The interest in creating new electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library in Ingushetia was articulated. Unus-Bek Yevkurov was granted with a library card with the symbolic number 6, which is matching with the region’s area code.
A meeting with the head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov was held to join the efforts of both regions with the library under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Presidential Affairs of Russian Federation in celebrating the 25th anniversary of these constituent entities of the Federation. It was stressed that with the participation of the outreach and awareness raising center of the Presidential Library and the “Arkhyz 24” TV Channel, a video conferencing with the participation of the Ingush Television, journalists, public and cultural figures will be arranged. Within its framework, public video lecturing reviewing a life and a growth of Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia is planned.
This is not the first joint project of the Presidential Library and the “Arkhyz 24” TV Channel. The Presidential Library handed over 20 video lectures from the “Knowledge of Russia” cycle to the TV channel. Public video lectures leaded by the prominent figures of national science and culture are regularly held in the library in order to grab an attention of school and university students to the significant dates of Russian history.
A multimedia photo exhibition based on the photographs of the “Kavkaz.doc” Karachay-Cherkessia creative photography competition will be organized in the Presidential Library, while several works of this are already included in the library fund sometimes in new unusual perspectives, in the form of tapestries for instance. Rashid Temrezov with great interest went through the “Patterns of Russia” exposition, which is open in the Presidential Library. Tapestries are created at one of the leading enterprises of the light industry in Russia - the “Uzor” Factory in Gatchina District of the Leningrad Oblast, and reflect the uniqueness and beauty of the territories of our country. Among the works there is also a panel depicting the Shoanin Temple, located on the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia.
The heads of the regions asked for more active involvement of high school students in “Russia in the electronic world” Olympiad on the history, Russian language and social studies, allowing a remote participation after registering on the Presidential Library website. The winners are granted with preferential admission to the universities of Russia, and along with it the leaders of the republics also emphasized that such an intelligent, informative project helps to consolidate the youth on the anniversary year.
