
The Russian School named after Tereshkova got started in Serbia
The Russian international school named after the first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova has began its work with its first enrollment of pupils in Belgrade. This educational institution is the only one of its kind in the Balkans and operates under the patronage of the Russian House — the Russian Centre of Science and Culture.
Overall 10 students among which are the citizens of both Russia and Serbia have enrolled into the first grade this year. According to the principal of the school Elena Elnatanova, there are already some applications from the parents of several children for the next year’s the second grade tuition.
The Russian language courses begin this October — there will be grammar, vocabulary, phonetics classes, which will last until May. Future students will learn the language before they will go to the upcoming year’s first grade classes.
The first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova congratulated school students with the beginning of the school year via videoconferencing mode, emphasizing the historical ties between Russia and Serbia. The 12th of April is the official day of school in her honor.
There is the Russian language electronic collection on the Presidential Library website. It includes the manuscripts and the editions of monuments of Russian writing, archival cases, research works (including dissertations and authors abstracts), dictionaries and reference books, the textbooks of various themes and levels. Besides scientific and educational community the digital “Russian language” collection will be interesting for linguists and specialists in online improvement of the Russian language, as well as for a wide range of users who appreciate their native language.
