On the opening day the Antiochus Cantemir Picture Gallery was visited by numerous viewers: representatives of the State University and the Department of Culture, members of the Russian community of the city, veterans, teachers, students and high school students. The organizers of the events held in Moldova for the centenary of the Revolution of 1917 delivered their speeches.

The employee of the RCSC Olga Bataeva told about the exhibition "1917. The Code of the Revolution", prepared on the basis of materials from a large-scale exposition of the Museum of Contemporary Russian History and the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History (RGASPI), containing archival photographs and photocopies of documents on the state of Russia at the beginning of the XX century, main events and heroes of the Russian Revolution of 1905-1907, the February and October revolutions. A brilliant excursion into the historical past was conducted by writer and publicist Mikhail Lupashko. "A century's milestone is a landmark for historical memory. Right now it is necessary to support the tendency of reconciliation of society with the events of 1917 and to promote the popularization of qualitative historical knowledge in order to learn from them", - Lupashko said in his speech.

On behalf of all residents of the Moldovan northern capital, organizers of the exhibition were thanked by the chairman of the Russian community of the city Pavel Buchatsky. In conclusion of the solemn part of the opening ceremony, local poetess Lyudmila Belova read the poem "November 7".

In the year of the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917, the Presidential Library implements a project dedicated to this memorable date.
