“A number of innovative projects with the objectives of a higher quality of education and an overall qualitative update of the entire educational system are currently on the go in the education system of the Leningrad Oblast,” — Chairman of the Committee for General and Vocational Education of the Leningrad Oblast Sergei Tarasov informed during the “Psychological safety in the regional educational environment” International Conference in the Presidential Library today.

One of the key positions in this belongs to the “pocket of excellence” status project implementing jointly with the Russian Academy of Education named “Creation and implementation of the psychological safety support system for the entities of the educational environment of the Leningrad Oblast.” Experts gathered around the table in the Presidential Library today to discuss the results of its implementation and to outline the prospects for its further development.

The choice has fallen on Leningrad Oblast as on an innovative arena for development and implementation of this project. As was pointed out at the conference, the Leningrad Oblast is a typical region of the Russian Federation, which at the same time has a special geopolitical border position. “It is important that this is the experience of exactly the Leningrad Oblast, because we very often talk about the experiences of the major cities of our country, but Russia consists of oblasts and krais where, apart from the cities, there are also country areas,” — Academician and Vice-president of the Russian Academy of Education Yury Zinchenko said.

At the conference it was stressed that in a current rapidly changing world it is necessary to analyze operatively all the challenges that contemporary children receive. Experimental project, implementing by the Russian Academy of Education and the Leningrad Oblast, will become a pilot model for ensuring the psychological safety in the educational environment, it’s called upon to catch the subtlest changes in the public consciousness in order to answer these in a timely and accurate manner. As the scientific co-coordinator of the project, Academician of RAO Irina Bayeva specified, “very often we react to deviations, turn on when the problem is in full swing. We would like to say with our project: “We do not want battlefields!” — we want a running system that we created, implemented and proved that it is effective.”

The participants of the conference have noticed the non-randomness of having such an event in the Presidential Library, which unites educational, cultural and communication spheres on its site. The Presidential Library is the richest information cluster really open to any individual from anywhere in the world. The regional and foreign network of the Presidential Library is widely represented in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and in 27 countries around the world.

Some remote access centers are also spread in the Leningrad Oblast, with which the Presidential Library develops closest cooperation, including joint educational projects. About 4,000 school students from the end of 2012 to the present day became the participants of multimedia lessons of the Presidential Library. An interaction also takes place in other areas: in the organization and running the conferences, seminars, round tables, meetings, awarding the best teachers and students of the region. An effective joint work according the cooperation agreement, signed in 2014 with the administration of the Leningrad Oblast, was especially highly acclaimed.
