The presentation of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library took place at the Financial University

Today, on January 30, 2018, at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation, a presentation of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, opened on the basis of a higher educational institution, was held. The event was held in the framework of the cooperation agreement signed by the agencies on November 8, 2017.

In his welcome speech, the Presidential Library Director General Alexander Vershinin noted that today the collection of the fund was increasingly focused on materials on economic topics, as well as constantly providing information and analytical support for major international financial events. For example, to the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018 it was prepared and presented a selection of "Russia - Switzerland: from the history of relationships" part of which is devoted to materials on the economy. Alexander Vershinin also stressed that the Presidential Library itself acts as a venue for such events. So, in 2018, the International Financial Congress will be held for the third time in the Senate Square building.

The portal of the Presidential Library presents a wide range of economic materials. For example, the collection "The Russian State and Economy" includes studies and documents reflecting the activities of government agencies in the sphere of economy and finance, the specific features of Russia's agrarian and industrial development, the development of domestic and foreign trade in the historical perspective, and the current state of the Russian economy. The portal also features materials related to government financial management authorities, monetary system, banking, state budget, taxation, financial law and many other topics.

Students and teachers of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation can now work with unique materials from the Presidential Library's collection of more than 600,000 items. The network of remote electronic reading rooms is constantly growing. Today, more than 470 remote access centers operate in all 85 regions of Russia, and over 30 - in 27 countries.
