Kurgan region celebrates the 75th anniversary of its foundation

February 6, 2018 Kurgan region marks the 75th anniversary of its foundation. January 31, 2018, on the eve of this significant date, a multimedia lesson "Kurgan Region: Pages of History" was held at the A. K. Yugov Kursk Regional Universal Scientific Library for schoolchildren of the school № 29. The library staff prepared a report on the main stages of the formation and development of Kurgan region with the involvement of the Internet resource of the Presidential Library.

During the event, high school pupils learned the history of the creation of the regional symbols: the coat of arms and the flag, they got familiar with the electronic collection "Kurgan region: pages of history", which included studies, statistical essays, archival documents, cartographic and photographic materials of the XIX - early XXI century characterizing the administrative, socio-economic, geographical location of the Kurgan and Shadrin uyezds, the territory of which forms the basis of the modern Kurgan region.

Especially the schoolchildren were interested in the interactive Olympiad "Russia in the electronic world". The pupils were able to test their knowledge by taking part in blitz tests.

The pupils became readers of the Presidential Library at the end of the lesson.
