This publication is the work of an outstanding Ukrainian archeologist and art critic Nikolai Emelianovich Makarenko. The first articles submitted were published in the journal Zodchiy in 1908 in St. Petersburg. They consider the Cossack period of the history of Ukraine and what monuments of art this epoch left behind (the eighteenth century). The main object of research is the Intercession Church - its structure, decoration is analyzed. Contains a large number of illustrations (photographs of the exterior and interior, drawings, etc.)
