The State Museum of the History of Religion (St. Petersburg) is running the exhibition “Spiritual Horizons: Tradition and Modernity in the Korean Art”, which is on loan from the Sakhalin Regional Art Museum. The State Museum of the History of Religion has launched an exhibition “At the Crossing of Traditions. The Sacred Art of Belarus of 17th – 20th cc”. It is the first time that the Belarusian religious art from the collection of the Grodno State Museum of the History of Religion (Belarus) has gone on display in Russia.

On January 7 Orthodox Christians celebrate one of their main holidays - Christmas. This day ends the time of New Year's festivities, and until 1918, when the Gregorian calendar was adopted in Russia, the Orthodox holiday of the Nativity of Christ was celebrated on December 25, and a series of New Year's holidays began with Christmas. It was for Christmas in the Russian Empire that it was customary to decorate a Christmas tree.
