Internet and Libraries: The NLR’s new electronic resource opens access to the collection of Kurdish manuscripts

The Manuscripts Department of the National Library of Russia (NLR) has launched a new electronic resource, which provides a free access to rarities — the collection of Kurdish manuscripts. The collection was built up by August D. Żaba (1801–1894) - the Russian consul in Erzurum. In 1868 it entered the library’s holdings. Nowadays the collection of Kurdish manuscripts is still of value to researchers.

The Kultura.RF portal presents a joint project with Marusya, the voice assistant of Mail.ru Group. An audio guide to the Gallery of Art of the Countries of Europe and America of the XIX-XX Centuries (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts), which preserves the best works of the legendary masters of impressionism, is available in the Marusya application and Capsule and Capsule Mini smart dynamics.

Museums of Russia: The Novgorod Museum-Reserve presented a new museum object - "White (Alekseevskaya) Tower"

April 27, 2018 the Novgorod Museum-Reserve opened for visitors a new museum facility - the White (Alekseevskaya) Tower. It is located on the southern tip of the earthen wall of the Sofia side of Novgorod and is the only preserved stone tower of the city's outer defensive belt of the late XVI-XVII centuries. The tower was erected in 1582-1584, at the same time as the fortifications of the Small Earthen City. It was named after the church of Alexis, a man of God, located nearby.

The exhibition “The French Taste of the Yusupov Princes” has been open in the New Jerusalem Museum and Exhibition Complex (Moscow Region), which features the largest private collection of the 18th - first third of the 19th century, which belonged to Prince Nikolai Borisovich Yusupov and his descendants. The project offers a new perspective on the history of collecting, telling about the origins of this phenomenon in Russia. In total 37 works are presented.
