The Battle of Borodino was held 207 years ago, on September 7 (August 26 according to the old style) of 1812. It was not just a major and bloody battle. Borodino was the result of a conflict of two systems, the two largest armies and the most powerful states of its time: France, led by Napoleon, striving for hegemony in Europe, and the Russian Empire, headed by Alexander I, who avoided this war.

79 years ago, on September 8, 1941, Leningrad was surrounded by enemy troops. The fascist Siege, which lasted 872 days, began. The Presidential Library, together with the "Radio Rossii" (the primary public radio station in Russia) and the "Peterburgskiy Dnevnik" newspaper, held a large-scale campaign devoted to preserving the historical memory of the Siege of Leningrad of 1941–1944.

The Zagorye Gallery (Moscow) presents the exhibition “The Industrial World in the Photographs of Alexander Rodchenko” from the collection of the Multimedia Art Museum. Visitors will have an opportunity to see over 80 photographs of the artist and graphic designer. They include photographs of buildings designed by Soviet architects, reports on the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal, and photo collages.
