The Russian Ethnographic Museum (Saint-Petersburg) launched the exhibition “Qatar between the Sea and the Desert. Art and Heritage". It is the key project of the cultural program of the State of Qatar, the guest country of the XXIV Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum. The exhibition project, arranged by the Cultural Creative Agency, will run until August 22, 2021.

New fragments of a Dead Sea Scroll have been discovered during an exhaustive survey of every nook in the Judean Desert, the Israel Antiquities Authority. It is the first new scroll to have been discovered in about 60 years. Written mainly in Greek, the newly unveiled scroll contains portions of the book of the 12 minor prophets, including Zechariah and Nahum.

The exhibition On the Wondrous Mountain…, presented by the Uglich State History, Architecture and Art Museum, is dedicated to the Trinity Cathedral, located in the Divnaya Gora (Wondrous Mountain) village “eight versts from Uglich”. It tells about the history of construction of the incredible church, uniting in itself various architectural styles, about its exterior and interior, as well as the fate of Divnogorsky poustyn in the XVIII-XXI centuries.

April 12, 2020 marks the 181st anniversary of the birth of Nikolay Przhevalsky (1839–1888), one of the greatest Russian geographers, climatologists, naturalists, and travelers. He devoted eleven years of his life to long expeditions; he walked nearly 31,500 kilometers through the forests of the Ussuri Territory, the endless steppes of Mongolia, the hot sands of the Gobi Desert, and the mountain trails of Tibet.
