Within the patriotic action “Lets we forget, nothing is forgotten” dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, with the support of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Brest from October 5 to October 7, a march to places of military glory took place: Malorita - Karpin - Chalk Mountain. The organizer of the march on the battlefields of the 75th rifle division in June 1941 was the Youth Patriotic Center of Brest.

On the eve of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, the Presidential Library hosted a creative lesson with the writer Marina Lykova “Journey to the world of children's book”. The library systematically implements educational programs designed for primary school age: these are multimedia lessons and support for beginning cinematographers from urban studios, and constant attention to “special” children from specialized educational institutions.

18 (29), 1787 in St. Petersburg, in the family of the son of the State Councilor and a wealthy Tambov-Saratov landlord, was born Mikhail S. Lunin, future colonel, holder of the Order of St. George, Decembrist. He received a brilliant education at the time, but did not have a solid general education. He served in the Cavalry Regiment and was a veteran of the war of 1812 and foreign campaigns of the Russian army.

On November 16 (6 old style), November 1673, the future Russian statesman and military leader, favorite and associate of the reformer Tsar Peter I, the first St. Petersburg Governor-General Alexander Menshikov (1673-1729), was born in Moscow. The electronic reading room of the Presidential Library contains a number of research papers dedicated to him, as well as archival documents.

300 years ago, on August 7 (July 27, old style), 1720, the last major naval battle in the Northern War - the naval Battle of Grengam Island was held. The victory of the young Russian fleet had a great influence on the course of the war and largely predetermined the speedy conclusion of the Treaty of Nystad.
