World culture: Language of the Queen of Sheba deciphered

Researchers from Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany) have succeeded in deciphering 2000-year old Arabic inscriptions. The writings are inscribed on palm-sticks which by size and form resemble a cigar.

December 3 and 4, 2018 in the regional center of the Presidential Library, running in the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Research Library, in the framework of the course “Philosophy of Law” of the teacher Tamara Demko, undergraduates of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia took place. February 7, 2019 marks 326 years since the birth of Empress Anna Ioannovna (1693-1740). The Presidential Library’s portal features extensive collection The House of Romanov. Zemsky Sobor of 1613, one of the parts of which is dedicated to Tsarina Anna Ioannovna, who ruled from 1730 to 1740.

Marking Pushkin Day several halls of the Lermontov Penza Regional Library and the Regional Center of the Presidential Library turned into a real Lukomorye. The guys from the summer camp of school № 68 were looking for "traces of unseen animals" throughout the library. They had to visit the island of Buyan, the tent of the Shamakhan queen, as well as Prince Gvidon.

Pyotr Apraksin coming from the Apraksin family, the eldest son of the stolnik Matvey Vasilyevich, brother of F. M. Apraksin and Tsarina Marfa Matveyevna, wife of Tsar Fedor Alekseevich was born on June 24 (July 4), 1659. He began his service with the rank of a room attendant (1677), then became a courtier (1689). He was a close associate of Peter I. In 1692-1694 he served as governor in Pskov, in 1697 - Dec. 1699/Jan. 1700s - in Novgorod.
