Day of the Unknown Soldier
3 December 1966
On December 3, 1966, on the 25th anniversary of Nazi arms defeat near Moscow, the remains of one of the unknown defenders of the capital who was killed during the battles in 1941 were buried near the Kremlin wall in Alexandrovsky garden. The Federal Law of March 13, 1995 (amended on June 13, 2023), "On Days of Military Glory and Memorable Dates in Russia", has declared December 3 as the Day of the Unknown Soldier.

The Rare book room of the of the United States Geological Survey found out an album of 1922 “Russian Diamond Fund”, which included photographs of previously undiscovered jewels of the royal family. This is reported at the web site of the Geological Survey.

Italian art critics have found in Sforza Castle about one hundred of previously unknown drawings and several paintings by Caravaggio. The works were made in 1584-1588, when young artist studied painting in Milan.
