The Presidential Library marking Alexander Blok’s birthday

The biography and oeuvre of Alexander Blok are associated with St. Petersburg. He was born on November 28, 1880 in the very heart of the city - on Vasilyevsky Island. The poet's grandfather Andrei Nikolaevich Beketov was the rector of St. Petersburg University, and the first years of Blok's life were spent in the rector's house.

Presidential Library marks birthday of cosmonaut Alexei Leonov

Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, a legendary man who took the first step into outer space, was born on 30 May 1934. The feat performed by the Soviet cosmonaut in 1965 is described in periodicals, books, fragments of newsreels and other materials presented in the collection of the Presidential Library Outer Space.

On February 26, 2020 at 11:00, the Presidential Library will host the video lecture “I want to come to the point of everything”, dedicated to the 130th birthday of one of the greatest Russian poets of the 20th century, writer and translator Boris Pasternak.
