Russian Culture Abroad: Exhibition of Ilya Repin's works "To Portray the Russian Soul" launched in Paris

The Petit Palais museum in Paris launched the exhibition of Ilya Repin's works "To Portray the Russian Soul". It features more than a hundred works by the great painter from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, other Russian museums and private collections and the Ateneum Art Museum in Helsinki.

Specialists from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the Akhmet Zaki Validi National Library in Bashkortostan, have created an online quiz called Hero of Russian Art, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Ilya Repin. The quiz is hosted on the Presidential Library's portal and is available for everyone via the internet connection.

More than 180 libraries in Ulyanovsk Region took part in the annual All-Russian campaign “Biblionoch in Online Format”, which in 2020 was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The online program, presented on 280 thematic virtual platforms, was watched by about 150,000 people.

The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, Main Building, Lavrushinsky Lane, 10) launched a new exhibition project "Anticipating the XX Century. Vasnetsov, Repin, Serov, Ge, Borisov-Musatov". The exhibition is part of a series of mobile exhibitions "The Artist and the Time" to be shown in the graphics halls as part of the program "The Tretyakov Gallery Opens its Storerooms". It is devoted to the most significant stages in the history of Russian graphics.

The largest Russian search engine Yandex has completed the beta phase of development of "Yandex.Perevod" (Translation), launched in March last year. The service is now fully functional, open API (application programming interface) has been published and become available to external developers.

A joint Russian-Finnish project “InterActive History” was launched in October as part of Karelia Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) Program. The project activities are targeted at 6 participating museums in Karelia and Finland. It is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia. The Creative Industries and Cultural Tourism Development Fund is the major partner of the project, which will run until 2020.
