The Presidential Library marking Russia Day
Our country celebrates Russia Day on June 12. On this day in 1990, the First Congress of People's Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration on State Sovereignty. The document proclaimed the supremacy of the Russian Constitution over the legislative acts of the USSR. The holiday received state status in 1994 and the official name Russia Day was assigned to it in 2002.
