
The exhibition "War and Myths" was opened in Slovenia
Nova Gorica city hosted grand opening of the interactive exhibition "War and Myths" organized by the Russian Embassy in Slovenia and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ljubljana with the support of the Mayor's Office of Nova Gorica.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Slovenia D. G. Zavgaev, Mayor of Nova Gorica M. Archon and head of the Russian Military Historical Society in Central Europe A. V. Mikhnovsky addressed the guests with a welcome address.
Among the participants of the ceremony were mayors of cities, leaders and representatives of the veterans' organizations of Slovenia, the society "Slovenia-Russia", youth organizations, compatriots and journalists.
The Slovenian men's choir "Provox" and the Russian poet, soloist of the ensemble "Russian Talisman" O. Zupan, who won numerous national and international awards, performed before the audience. The performance included songs of the times of World War II.
The exhibition, prepared by the Russian Military Historiсal Society, which presented a figurative narrative about the most significant and resonant facts of the liberation of Eastern and Central Europe from the Nazi occupation, aroused great interest on the part of the Slovenian public. All present noted that the exhibition "War and Myths" serves to preserve the objective memory of the events of World War II.
The Presidential Library portal features the electronic collection "Memory of the Great Victory". It includes official documents, photo and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, agitation and propaganda publications, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies from participants in combat engagements and home front workers, their personal documents, images of combat and labor awards, monuments and memorials complexes, compositions about the war of grandchildren and great-grandchildren of veterans.
