The conference "Cadet Day in the Presidential Library" brought together students from cadet, Nakhimov and Suvorov schools in Russia

On April 3, 2019 the annual conference "Cadet Day in the Presidential Library" was held at the Presidential Library supported by the Directorate of Military Education of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

“Holding the Cadet Day at the Presidential Library has become a good tradition”, - said Ilya Bykovnikov, Director General of the Presidential Library opening the event. - Young people and girls seek to participate in the fate of the Fatherland. Participants not only from St. Petersburg, but also from other regions of our country joined the event”.

Pupils of the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the St. Petersburg Nakhimov Naval School, the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Cadet Fire and Rescue Corps of the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Emergencies Ministry, veterans graduates of cadet educational institutions attended the event. Pupils of branches of the Nakhimov Naval School in Murmansk, Sevastopol, Vladivostok, the Pension of students of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in Moscow, cadets and readers in the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library, the Pushkin Omsk Regional Universal Scientific Library and the Kaliningrad Regional Research Library joined event via video-conferencing mode. Over 15 regions watched the broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal and in VKontakte official group.

At the conference, Nakhimov students and Suvorov students spoke on the history of the school building on Petrogradskaya Embankment in St. Petersburg, Suvorov's campaign through the Alps, battles for Corfu Island with the participation of the celebrated naval commander F. F. Ushakov.

On this site, many centers of remote access to electronic resources of the Presidential Library on that day not only organized conference watching, but also organized book exhibitions, guided tours, the guests of the event were introduced to the activities and materials of the country's largest national electronic repository.
