The Presidential Library presented the electronic collection marking the 110th anniversary of Marshal Alexander Pokryshkin in Novosibirsk

The presentation of the digital collection “Electronic Library of Marshal Alexander Pokryshkin”, dedicated to the life and exploits of the legendary pilot, three times Hero of the Soviet Union, took place in the Small Hall of the Government of Novosibirsk Region on March 28, 2023.

This is a joint project of the Presidential Library and the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library. The collection contains electronic copies of documents related to the personality of Alexander Pokryshkin, including books, photo albums, articles and notes from periodicals, video documents, personal photographs, archival documents, and pilot’s notebooks. Valuable materials were provided by the Novosibirsk State Museum of Local History, the State Archive of Novosibirsk Region, and the Museum of the Pokryshkin Novosibirsk Technical College.

Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov noted that “this significant library and information product will attract the attention of the public, teachers and schoolchildren, and will be in demand in the educational process not only in Novosibirsk Region, but also in other regions of Russia”.

At the event, representatives of the Presidential Library and the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library conducted a review of the electronic collection. There were performed speeches by heads and specialists of organizations involved in preparing the collection. Students of colleges and cadet corps of Novosibirsk told about their experience of using the electronic library; central libraries of the regions of the Russian Federation attended the presentation via video conferencing.

The Presidential Library and the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library have been cooperating since 2011. An agreement on cooperation between the Presidential Library and the Government of Novosibirsk Region was signed then as well.

During this time, many joint cultural and educational projects have been implemented, such as exhibitions, round tables, conferences dedicated to historical events and anniversaries. In 2023, in addition to creating a personal collection marking the 110th anniversary of Alexander Pokryshkin, a round table dedicated to the heroic path and the preservation of the memory of the air marshal as well as the Sibirsky Sokol (Siberian Falcon) electronic exhibition were held at the Presidential Library.
