Penza students learned resources of Presidential Library

On March 20, 2025, specialists from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library, held an information and educational event for students. The event was attended by students of the Historical and Philological Faculty of Belinsky Penza State Pedagogical University. The young people were introduced to electronic resources of the Presidential and Lermontov Penza Regional Libraries.

The participants were told about the main collections of the Presidential Library. Particular attention was paid to the collection of works on the Russian language. The audience appreciated the collection of proverbs and sayings by M. I. Mikhelson, Apt and Walking Words (1894), and the book Winged Words, which are essential for professional use. They also discussed the saying A word is not spoken in vain and will never be forgotten by S. Maksimov (1899).

The students were presented with a collection from the Presidential Library titled Textbooks on Russian Language. This collection includes old thematic publications that allow us to understand how drastically the approach to learning the language has changed and how different its content has become. Additionally, a review of collections dedicated to prominent Russian writers was conducted.

The students were also informed about the Contest for student papers using information resources from the Presidential Library that started on March 7, 2025. This contest allows students to access specialized textbooks, scientific articles, archival materials, photographs, video recordings, chronicles, illustrations, and other resources that improve the quality of their educational work.

The collection Penza Region: Pages of History is available the Presidential Library's portal. It contains archival documents, essays, research papers, statistical data, and other materials that cover various aspects of the region's history.
