
Presidential Library's resources presented to participants of Green Marathon educational programme in Murmansk
On April 15, 2025 the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library, based on the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, held educational events dedicated to the Day of Environmental Knowledge. They were held within the framework of the educational programme "Green Marathon".
More than 100 people took part in the events. Among them were students of the Ural Regional College, Murmansk College of Economics and Information Technologies, and Kola Transport College.
The quiz Under Special Protection included questions and riddles about the nature of the Kola Polar Region. By answering them, it was possible to learn a lot of interesting things about natural monuments and specially protected natural areas. The materials of the intellectual competition formed the basis of a board game of the same name, which the participants received as a gift.
The Presidential Library's thematic materials were presented during the events. Among them was the documentary film O Kildin, dedicated to the natural monument of federal significance - the relic lake Mogilnoye, located on Kildin Island in the Barents Sea near the Kola Peninsula.
Participants of the quiz Pearls of the Polar Region answered questions about nature reserves of the Murmansk region, learnt interesting facts about amazing lakes and rivers.
At the exhibition "Nature. Ecology. Human" presented books about nature and careful attitude to it.
On the Presidential Library's portal the collection Natural Wealth of Russia is available. It includes digital copies of official documents, monographs, dissertation abstracts, periodicals, archival, visual and other materials.
