The best volunteers were selected in the Murmansk region

On March 5 and 6, volunteers from all over the region, representatives of youth and children's public associations, gathered in the premises of the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library. The final tests of the contest "Volunteer of the Year-2018" were held in the hall of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

The event was held to support and develop volunteerism in the youth environment of the Murmansk region. Its organizer was the Regional Center for Civil and Patriotic Education and Training of Youth for Military Service.

The final has been held for two days. The first day was devoted to the presentation of the results of the volunteer activities of the contestants. On the second day, participants were able to attend a seminar on "Effective organization: creating a present and planning a future".

Winners of the regional stage of the contest will represent the Murmansk region at the All-Russian competition "Volunteer of Russia - 2018".

On the Presidential Library website the Murmansk region is represented by the collection "Murmansk region: pages of history". The proposed selection includes studies, statistical materials, archival documents, visual and video materials reflecting the geography, socio-economic and political aspects of the history of the Murmansk region in the second half of the XVIII century and the first third of the XX century, and the current Charter of the Murmansk region.
